Hello everyone,
I'm from Las Cruces, New Mexico and new to Rag Rugs. I think the instructions are
awesome for the toothbrush rug, and can't wait to try it out. I'm also into Rug Hooking
and looking for fellow rug enthusiasts in my area.

Important Step before making
Important Step before making the Rug.
Just learned an important part of creating the rag rug that wasn't really mentioned on the videos. In order to avoid the frayed look, fold the fabric strip in on both sides with the help of a safetypin and your iron. Slide the strip underneath the pinned safety pin as you iron the strip. It works well and makes quick work of the chore. It's pretty much the same way you would make binding for a quilt.
I already tried my first rug, an oval and it came out beautiful.
Happy Rugging,
Petra
P.S. I found a Bodkin at JoAnn's Fabric Store, and I'm using it instead of the thootbrush tool. It is usually used to insert elastic into a waistband, but also works great for the rug making. I only paid $1.00 for it.
