Hello Cafe!
Well drat!! Think I got over anxious. I've been working on a rug I hope you find interesting. Its been fun working on it! Unfortunately, I misjudged how much material
I needed and ran out of a particular color. Geez!! Has anyone else done this? Fortunately, I got lucky and found some today. I can't wait to get started again!
Working with a variety of print material leaves little room for want I think. I chose to do a flower design that has 4 solid colors worked into a pattern. I really didn't want
to undo the petals I had finished to begin again with a new color. Hopefully, I have learned my lesson with this situation and will be more careful in the future.
Hope to be showing it to you soon! So, off to stripping I go! ....um....well, you know what I mean.
Happy Rugging!
Rhonda

Calculating the wool you'll need.
I've read from many people in my online groups that a good way to estimate the wool needed is to lay the wool over the area you want to fill with that color. 5 layers of the wool will generally fill the area.
When you use upcycled wool, as I do much of the time, I just have to try to find wools that blend nicely. Even if I found 11 identical skirts or sports jackets at the thrift store, probably wouldn't buy them, unless it was a to die for color!
As much as I can afford to I love to use hand dyed wools. But that gets very expensive.

Yes, I have run out before. Rugs always take more materials than you think.
