I wanted to share with you a rather simple way to create a petal effect. These directions reflect only how I did the petal and in no way means this is how it has to be done. Your own unique creativity may be a simpler way yet and better suit your own individual method of ragrugging.

Hi Ruggers!

Buying material at a sewing and/or craft store can be very expensive!

I have found alot of material at our local community thrift shop. They have it bundled

and tagged by how many yards of material it is, and usually cost ten times less!

One of our thrift shops has shelves FULL of material. So much in fact,  it's hard to go through!

What a gold mine! If you haven't visited your local thrift shop, I would really recommend it.

Finding it was one of the good things about running out of my material!

Well drat!! Think I got over anxious. I've been working on a rug I hope you find interesting. Its been fun working on it! Unfortunately, I misjudged how much material

I needed and ran out of a particular color. Geez!! Has anyone else done this? Fortunately, I got lucky and found some today. I can't wait to get started again!

Hi Cafe!

I was tending to my flower bed and suddenly had the inspiration

to use your oval rag rug tutorial to try and make a flower rag rug. This can work!

So many ideas ran through my head. After many trial and errors,

I was able to work out these petals, starting them directly on the circle.

I also think that the petals can be done separately and then sewn to

the circle. With my next flower, I will start the oval with one color,

then change colors to finish the petal. This rug has 5 petals, but I'm
